The Hanging Raku Cone Planter is fired in an ancient Japanese technique called Raku. The pieces are fired outdoors in a kiln until they reach their melting point. Once the glaze has melted the kiln is shut off and the piece is immediately pulled and placed in a barrel of combustibles. This process creates a beautiful crackle effect from the thermal shock and metallics from the smoke patterns.

Every Raku piece is unique and has variations in the crackle pattern and metallics. No two pieces are the same!
